Um, $81,000? That doesn't seem like a lot considering most houses go for hundreds of thousands.


Or is the currency somewhat different?

Consider in the fact that you're not getting money from selling a house. It's just $81,000. From you. No other transaction. Seems like a bit much, yeah?

Most of the time when you buy a new house, you sell your old house. In doing this, you're still in some debt most of the time, but the cost of the old house helps you out a bit.
