Why are boyah chatrooms so rarely used?

Judging by how extremely active the chat threads are, I'd think that you all would actually use chatrooms at least occasionally.
AIM chats are the only boyah chatrooms I've seen which ever have more than like 4 people on at a time, but even then, those are only made like once every couple months as far as I know.
Kaz made a boyah IRC room (irc.chatspike.net #dhitboyay) like a month ago, but him, me, and ME86 were the only people who were like ever there. I think Hime, famy, and JMV each joined only a couple times as well. What activity that room had died completely about two weeks ago.

They drain activity from Boyah.  And yes, the only person [lol] at the IRC channel worth talking to is Cookies.  akudood;

If there was a link to the IRC from the forums I bet a lot more people would go there. That's how it worked (works? are they still around?) at NSFCD. But then again, look at all the activity they have.

Their forums actually don't have any activity, really. #nsider is way more active than the forums and I'm pretty sure it has more to do with the fact that about 10 users are always there that #nsider manages to stay really active.

I'm not even sure what that is. maps;

I couldn't get IRC to work, so I just stick to making boyah AIM chats every so often

A program which is able to connect to IRC. Like how the program you download from AIM's site is considered an AIM client, a program which lets you join IRC rooms is an IRC client.

Anyone here who uses Pidgin or Adium has one, not to mention there are websites that have web-based IRC like mibbit and the sites hosting pjirc applets.

Why

Because you can't use bots, change nicks, have operators, etc. in AIM chats.
