So I walk out of my house earlier this morning down the driveway towards my car, and there's a dead kitten beside the car with insides kinda spilling out.

That happened a few years back in my neighborhood. This guy's cat and this lady's cat down the street made too many damn kittens, and everyone just ignored them till they were roaming the street and got in everyone's way. Several kittens were found one morning dead with their insides spilling out in various driveways.

I left it there and it was gone when I got back home.
