Can't figure this out.

Find f(x) if f(x) divided by x + 4 = 2x + 3 + -7/x + 4

I know that you need to do synthetic division, and I know that -7 is the remainder. Other than that, I'm stumped.

This is Algebra II.

NOA_Haunted

We did synthetic division earlier in the year, but i forgot.

Tomboh

you worded this weird

are there any parenthesis you forgot

No. Trying to find the main equation.

OMG LOL
f(x)/(x+4)=2x+3-7/(x+4)
solve for f(x)

Tomboh

i got 2x^2+11x+5

i dunno if this is correct baddood;

you do (x+4)(2x+3-7/(x+4))

because if dividing by x+4 gets you 2x+3-7/(x+4) then multiplying by x+4 would get you back to where you started

anus

I got it. WHOO that feels good.

Thanks, Tomboh, and on a smaller scale, Clucky.  wub;

NEXT PROBLEM.
f(x)/x-3 has a remainder of 5.
What is f(3)?
A. f(3)
B. 2
C. 5
D. not enough information

f(x)/x-1000=ax^2+bx+C+5/(x-1000), where a, b and c are constants
What is f(1000)?
