i can swim very well.

Well, a good part of it is psychological. Plus, it's not really their size they're trying to hide, it's the fat in itself, what the upper body looks like. It's a bit different than just a larger version of a thin body. Man-boobs, etc.

Also, stretch marks. Which I still do have, remnants of my fatter days.
