As college looms I'm looking at relatively cheap houses that I could go in on with some friends, so we may have good living conditions and not shit dorms.

This one looks like a shit hole, yes, but appears to have been foreclosed upon and look at that yard you could build another fuckin house over there. $25,000? Adjacent to the highway for over-the-river-to-Mpls access (this is in St. Paul)? That basement could be a top-notch Warhammer room with a little work. And for $12,500 assuming I went in on it with a friend, that's practically saving money on dorm rooming for 4 years anyway plus it's a whole house (albeit kind of small. all the more reason to get out). little paint here and there and it'd be the fuckin place to be

Pretty nice, go for it Snorkel.

I will probably stay in the dorms for the first 2 years. Idk, I guess it will just be part of the college experience.

now if you move there.
i'll know where you live..
so i'm going to come rape you..

I was going to say that the first house was pretty expensive for $25,000 anyway. n_u

If you want to go for it, sure, I just hope your first plans for it are repainting the exterior.

YPrrrr

I don't think you can build another house without some kind of permit

If I had to pay 12 grand I could put down half up front and pay the rest within 6 months, it'd be awesome

Sam

You wouldn't find a house in CT anywhere near $25K

Cheapest thing you'll find here is probably closer to 100-125

How about actually outside of NYC.  akudood;

If I just said "lol boston" then you'd be looking at 500k for a condo, I don't even know how much houses are.

FAMY2

 In our town the city won't let a bunch of unrelated students buy a house to use as a dorm. Someone's grandma did that and the city evicted them. I think that is a bunch of bull shit.    baddood;
