Remember that rap is poetry and an art form.  Don't completely focus on what you have to say, but make sure you have a purpose.  Don't forget to express yourself in your poetry, but don't get full of yourself, either.  Also, there are loads of poetic devices that increase rhythm that rappers also use, including alliteration, internal rhymes, and assonance.  So again, don't forget that rap is poetry - yes, you might know how to make something rhyme, but that's not all there is to it.
