I had three weeks to read a short story and analyze it. The story has been read multiple times, notes taken and written, both on paper and within the mind. Yet I'm having trouble (being lazy) taking the time to process and sort out what I want to write, and then to actually write it. Any advice on how to help myself get into that non-lazy mindset which might help me facilitate the writing of this paper?  :(

No, I don't remember ever bring particularly proactive about anything, especially schoolwork, and mostly I just complete what I feel is significant and laze on what I feel is not.

But, maybe you could think of some cool idea you'd like to incorporate into the writing of this essay (depending on what variety of writing you're supposed to do), and you might get excited about that. Motivates me occasionally.

Aderall would probably help... or go somewhere quiet without internet and work to free yourself from the boredom
