Protesting is okay, even some minor rioting. But destroying (black owned) businesses to show anger over the death of a black man really doesn't do much to advance the community.

Now, if they wanted to riot to the point of smashing police cars or, even better, destroying BART property, then I'd be for that.

I don't think they should have released the name of the officer so quickly. People are liable to do unfortunate things under emotional stress.
