Why don't any of you ever listen to Warren Zevon?

He's fucking great. Deliciously sarcastic, folkish at times, and a fan of dark humor. But I've never seen any of you guys ever mention that you listen to him. It's a real shame. I currently only have his Excitable Boy album and a few songs from his other albums, but I love it all. It's simple and ear-pleasing good old rock and piano-pop stuff, with genius lyricism.

Hopefully a few of you may like him. I think at least Selkie and Houdini would, if nobody else.  hocuspocus;

I really like that BBC version of "Lawyers, Guns and Money." Only thing it's lacking from the original is the great guitar solo.

Selkie

I just listened to a few songs on youtube. He's pretty good

It seems like simple pleasing music to listen to when I'm in an average mood. Nothing too intense.

Good stuff thought. I like Renegade  :3

Yup, pretty much. Simple, pleasing, and not trying at all to be "different." He's like a Lou Reed that can sing better if Joe Walsh was his guitarist and Elton John was his pianist, or something.

The only real uniqueness comes from Zevon's dark humor stuff, like "Excitable Boy." He also seemed to  love making jokes on his own cancer he was dying from.
