Favorite classic rock album?

I'd give it to...

You know... Classic rock? The period of rock albums from the late 60s to the mid 80s? Got it? Good? Yeah.

Well, my favorite classic rock album is...



It's the Rolling Stones' most mis-mash, rambling collision of musicial genres into one album. This album has so many damn different genres in it with rock, country, gospel, blues and R & B. That's in part what makes the album so good. The album is so random and disjointed that when it goes from Southern soul (Let It Loose) to electric blues (Stop Breaking Down), you're never bored. It just goes from genre to genre. I love it.

It also has my favorite Rolling Stones songs on Exile on Main St. Tumbling Dice, Let It Loose, Casino Boogie, Rocks Off (Dude, I listen to this song everytime I get in my car. I love this song, man... LOVE IT.), Shake Your Hips, Stop Breaking Down, Turd on the Run, Sweet Virgina, Shine a Light, and Torn and Frayed. Of course, that's not saying the other songs on the album are bad. They're actually quite good. I'm just saying which songs I really love.

This is the pinnacle of the Rolling Stones in my mind. Nothing else they've done has come close to Exile on Main St. Not even Let It Bleed or Sticky Fingers can match how powerful and fun this album truly is. Oh and the only reason why David Bowie doesn't have my favorite classic rock album is because I don't really consider Low or Hunky Dory classic rock. I'm not sure which genre Hunky Dory falls in my mind... Whatever. Anyway, Exile on Main St... Awesome.

IV isn't that high for me. I'm really not too fond of "Four Sticks" or "Battle of Evermore." Physical Graffiti, however, is amazing. It's my second favorite.
