The two current models, 80 Gig Core and 160 Gig both of which lack backwards compatibility with the PS2, are  more or less the same, except for their price, HDD capacity and the 160 Gig comes with Uncharted, and I believe Sony is still doing the deal where if sign up for a PlayStation credit card you get $150 automatically off the price if you purchase one from the Sony Style store.  But, if you want one that can play PS2 games you'd have to search eBay or something for the older 80 Gig units or one of the launch units.

Once one hits the $300 mark I'm going to get one.

Which will hopefully be March 2009, if the rumors are true, even though Sony denied the rumors.

Don't most companies?  I recall Microsoft saying after E3 that there wasn't going to be a cut in the price of the Xbox 360, which happened little over a month after E3. goonish
