A new sophomore is chosen every year to be SMIT. If you quit after you've already been trained as SMIT, the C-Wing will shun you.

I had an option when I first signed up, that was my choice. It wasn't until a few months in that I realized I'm not allowed to be stage manager AND have a life at the same time.

And the C-Wing is the art wing at my school. We say the C stands for Cult. It's basically the general reference for the choir, theater, and pothead artists.

We don't have a mandatory stage manager. It's just whoever wants to sign up or whoever talks the least gets it. ^_____^
I can't imagine why you'd want to be a techie though, I'd probably kill myself.

The actors do all the fun stuff and get all the glory. You guys are basically our bitches, move our shit, do our makeup, get our costumes for us, etc. And pretty much 9 times out of 10, if something goes wrong, it's your fault. ^__________^

Rest assured, if any actor even attempts to give me a command, they're getting a punch in the face.

During the musical, I know more about the show than any of the actors. I can still recite at least 90% of Thoroughly Modern Millie and Fiddler. During production days, I can easily say every line, sing every song, and do every dance as they occur on stage. I don;t know how your play works, but every actor in our musical knows how high-up I am. I'm the one bossing them around. I can get people kicked out of the play in a snap, and I have (Too many missed rehearsals and no ad money, assholes).

And seriously,m our backstage crew has SO much fun during the musical. Maybe it's just the people we have, but we always have 4-5 cast members who decide to switch to backstage after their first show just because it looks so fun. And I get to be the head of that. Sounds fine to me.

You have to worry about what kinds of makeup to get, and apply it. We're the ones who have the most fun, are embraced by our audiences, applauded by them... actually seen by them...

I'm the one who tells everyone to "shut the fuck up" when a scene is going on. I'm the one who yells when people aren't paying attention, or get lines wrong, or haven't memorized something, or are late to practice.

No. Why the fuck wold I do that? We have our own costume designer, and even if we didn't, I wouldn't do that.

The cast at my school usually thanks me and congratulates me for the work I do. If any of them acted like you're acting right now, I probably wouldn't do it. It wouldn't be worth the perks.

Actually lawl, our techies didn't even get a curtain call. It was strictly cast this year, as it should be.
You guys aren't seen, show no talent whatsoever, and shouldn't be sharing our spotlight.
