I went to Outsid for maybe a month or so with any real decent amount of activity. I always felt uncomfortable and didn't know pretty much anyone there.

I tried for you, Outsid. I tried and got nothing but awkwardness in return.

I made an account and just started using it actively the other day. And then Outsider died

Yeah, after a while Outsider got really difficult for new members to join. It was weird rambling conversations and stupid in-jokes that anyone who hadn't been there for a while would have trouble joining in with. The newest member who I felt actually became a part of the community was Tim, who joined last June.

I joined...last November? Or November '06? I don't remember how long Outsider has been around, but I remember that when I joined it was right after one of my birthdays, in November. The guest board was still in effect, and I wouldn't have gotten in if Karel hadn't mentioned that he knew I was a /b/tard.

...I wish I could remember how he knew that, and why I went to Outsider in the first place. I guess I just went because I had nothing to do, and that DS.MANIAC guy or whatever invited me.

Yeah, me too. Also the main theme made me want to club a box of kittens.

One thing it had going for it was the Cthulhu emotes, which I enjoyed.

You have to go there and understand the friendships and the whole picture. Every forum is different. Outsider was special to me.
