The Hand That Fisted Everyone

We've realized this from the moment people started saying "LOL" in public. People are not keeping the Internet where it should be...which is the internet.

icanhazcheezburger.com or whatever the futz it is called published a book of LOLcats.

The CBS sitcom "Big Bang Theory" has various internet related jokes in it.

My girlfriend and her friends have started quoting the LOLcats.

People from 4chan do stuff to scientologists. I dunno I don't pay any attention to them.

This one kid in my class won't shut up about web comics. "LOL HAVE YOU SEEN THE NEW VG CATS?"

"JAPAN IS AWESOME"

"THERE IS AN ENERGY DRINK CALLED BAWLS"

I swear it's enough to smoothe out your brain.

The internet is becoming too big. Way too big.

I'm certain that the only solution is to destroy the internet. However, that time might have past.

When networks are airing sitcoms with internet referencing in them, and a majority of the people get them, it really does shake me spine.

All this internet jive have become to much to handle. I certainly can't be the only one who is sick of this.

Share your experiences and your ways of coping with this.

I was at work and in the break room someone wrote "THE CAKE IS A LIE" on some piece of paper. doodthing;

sans culottes

I think it's a bit assy when people get really pissy about someone mentioning an internet meme in real life.

But I do agree that it's retarded when teenagers who don't know what /b/ is are wearing lolcats shirts.
I support BUSH

i totally agree with you.
it's pretty gay when people like say LOL.
or when they are like OMG.
its quite stupid.

Yes I hate it when internet stuff bleeds in real life. It always seems so out of place. Although I personally don't even really like using most of it on the internet, but it doesn't bother when other people do.

Yes. A guy asked told me those were hilarious and I should go to a site called vgcats.com. I kinda just nodded and said "mmm."

I heard some two guys calling each others bro's and broseph today. Dunno if that's internetish or not, but I see it on 4chan a lot.

Other problems:

Youtube Live
Rick Astley at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

Yeah, I hate how the internet subculture is slowly becoming part of real life pop culture.

As an avid fan of 'Big Bang Theory' I won't comment on that. =p

But I will say, personally I don't mind clever refrences to internet sub culture in real life, but when people constantly spout of memes (usually stale) that gets me annoyed. Especially since, like someone else said, they don't know where it originated from.

yasrsly, I also hate it when people quote lines from movies or books. Why can't they shut up and let me think I'm the only one that knows about it. >:(

oooh.
alotta people quote movies though.
and im one of them.
it's hard not too cause there are so many good lines.

This seems to be more of a problem with /b/, and less of one with the internet itself. Though, I have to admit that I have used internet terminology in real life on several occasions, but only in reference to a forum to my forum-going friends.

Lozal

Ew. Yeah, that seriously pissed me off having Rick Astley at the parade.

And hearing kids at my school saying stuff like "The cake is a lie" and "so i herd u liek mudkips?"

People need to get educated.

It really frustrates me. Our subculture turned into fucking pop culture.
