I saw Prometheus at IMAX last night at midnight.

Also saw Prometheus last night. It was enjoyable but terribly unsatisfying since

[spoiler=actual spoilers of plot]The motivation for David (Michael Fassbender) to do put the substance in the dude's drink. Why?

What does any of it really have to do with Alien? How does the octopus raping the engineer create the alien?

A sequel is probably likely.

Yea I didn't really like,

[spoiler]How they didn't answer the main question. I would have rather they ended it with that and then just didn't set up for a sequel. It gave the movie a sense of incompleteness.[/spoiler]

Also,

[spoiler]Also, David's motivation to poison that guy might have been because he and his girlfriend were really the only two who shared the "oh shit im so fuckin excited to meet our maker and see what grand plan he had for us", whereas the guy sort of just insulted David when he asked him why man created him. Idk, just an idea.[/spoiler]

ALSO,

[spoiler]I'm kind of thinking, since the octopus was made from that black slime shit that apparently creates super creatures, maybe a combination of DNA from the octopus + the Engineer created a hybrid sort of species (the Alien) that is the best of both worlds.[/spoiler]

yeah the movie's writing was a mess and it kind of sucked overall but i guess it looked cool????

[spoiler]david was being controlled by weyland, guys

he doesn't have any 'motivation' to do anything not programmed into him and it would be a little silly to have a robot character make decisions completely on his own

I watched Paul finally. Thought it was very good.
Love Simon Pegg and Nick Frost though so may be a little biased
Regarding those two however, I also saw Spaced recently. its a tv show but its also starring them, and directed by Edgar Wright and its fuckin briiliant
