Okay, here we go:
i = (2i)/2
  = (2i + 1 - 1)/2
  = (i^2 + 2i + 1)/2
  = ((i + 1)^2)/2
  = ((i+1)/sqrt(2))^2

Therefore, sqrt(i) = (i+1)/sqrt(2). I guess it could also be -(i+1)/sqrt(2) if you want to be precise.
