Couple of ideas for the possible betterment of Boyerg

1.) Flash abilities. I dunno how much it would be used, but it'd still be nice to have for those who can't use it. If I recall, normal users can't use the flash tag at all. If the administrators are so afraid of it being abused, they can make dipshit unable to use the tags and then dipshit anyone who does abuse the ability.

2.) Locking the chat thread from time to time, only for a little bit each time. This may work against us, or it may work for us. Chat threads are a big problem because they give everyone less of a reason to make threads. We should consider giving it a try.

3.) Arcade. I'm not saying we all want it, but it is a way to get some users who are used to arcades at forums to stick around a bit longer. If our current server can handle it, perhaps we should try it. Besides, it wouldn't hurt anything just to have it lying around.

4.) A new board. I don't know what kind of board. Just something new. I'd prefer something that isn't completely nonsensical like Rainbow Party was. You guys have any ideas for decent new boards? Something like that is always refreshing and might help make this place a little less boring and help a bit with activity.

5.) Weekly or daily (monthly?) event of some sort. Poll of the day, back when we actually did it, was pretty cool.


I posted this new thread about suggestions for two reasons: nobody checks the suggestion thread, and we could use the activity anyway.

Feel free to bash or support my simple little ideas, or come up with your own.

The first two i don't care about, because I can't see flash on these school computers or at the library, and i don't care if the chat thread get's locked or not.

The arcade is something I fully support. I miss it so. Even though Sam pretty much dominated the majority of the arcade, except for the guy who destroyed us all at tetris. OH GOD HIS NAME ESCAPES ME, IT'S ON THE TIP OF MY TONGUE.

Anyway, the arcade could easily spawn some more activity. With the arcade we could have many events, such as tournaments, or a simple contest for a single game, or just discussing a game in general.

The idea for new boards has been brought up a lot, but if we can think of a great idea for a new board, I'm all for it.

Hell yea, lock the chat thread. I really get tired of it.

Flash privileges seems like something that could be experimented with easily.

They're all great suggestions, I just hope some of these can be put into action.

I honestly believe that even if you added any of those things, the activity level will remain the same. None of those "new" ideas will bring in any new people or make the people who have been lost return. Just sounds like some stuff you would like added so that you could be entertained for a few more minutes when you are logged in instead of really making this place better.

I suggested putting up flyers but jmv thought it was a stupid idea so i never did it

I've dragged a few friends on here... But they never stay
this morning I signed up at iwebtool and advertised as much as I could... But I soon realized that forum is deader than boyah

I didn't say necessarily for "more activity," I just said for the "betterment of Boyerg." More activity and making this place less boring aren't synonymous.

That's only because the other administrators don't do anything. Bassir or reefer could "dominate" if they wanted to, but they don't care about this place as much as I do, so they only come around every so often and post like 5 times a day.
