i think brittany... or should i say issac... dunning is a transgender. she doesn't want the surgery but she wants to look like and be called a boy; right? she went to your school, you would probably know more.

Wrong.

In the first place, the xy vs. xx definition has been mostly discounted in recent years, and does not serve as the basic determination of gender anymore.

And right now, the picture suggested that she has not yet undergone treatment, meaning that she technically still has male genitalia, even though the rest of her body and hormone balance fits that of a female. Legally, then, she is not a female, but will be in some time.

Plus, the MOST important determination of gender is the mind, and the role one wishes to take in society, both of which are, in her case, decidedly female.

Once she has undergone surgery, she will be female, and even now she deserves the female pronoun.

I use transgender as referring to someone with gender dysphoria, yet who is not yet involved in hormone treatment, and a transsexual is one who is making hormonal and physical progress towards a sex-change.
