Yes. I thought most people did.

Guess people in the Midwest don't have to if there are only fields of wheat. Or if the Mississippi River overflows.  doodella;

I can swim, I took lessons when i was younger but ended up running to my mom crying during the second lesson because i sucked so much.

After that I basically just taught myself.

That Kansas isn't the entire midwest.  Also, the Mississippi doesn't go through Kansas |:

I was only talking about the Midwest and the Mississippi overflowing parts of it. You brought up this Kansas shit. |:

Back on topic, uh... I'd like to try swimming in the Dead Sea. I wonder how it would be like to not be able to sink at all.

I can swim, but not very well.

I found this out during the summer. Me and a friend were swimming across a lake, and it turned out I couldn't make it across. It's not that I didn't have enough stamina, I just didn't seem to float well after while, and I panicked. As we were about half way across I called for him to come help me, and the struggle proceeded.
He came to me and tried to grab a limb and pull me, but I was panicking like a bitch and I went under probably about 5 feet and swallowed a shit load of water. The water is about 20 feet by my estimate at this point. I kept grabbing at his limbs, trying to get some sort of feeling of safety. At one point I grabbed his shoulders and pulled myself above water for a short breath of air, then he swam out from under me and left me to figure it out myself.
Turns out I float quite well on my back. I did the back stroke the rest of the way.
Once I got to the other side, my muscles hurt like I've never felt before, and I had the most intense headache I'd ever experienced.

Then while I was driving everyone home some jackass nearly ran me off the road. argh;
