Yeah, shitty answer, I know. All I know is that when I desperately try to find ideas, I don't find them. I just find them while doing other stuff and vaguely thinking about the project or something related to the project. Then I come up with many possible outcomes or options I had that I didn't see at first and some of them make me go "hey it would be awesome to do that / write that".

Most of the time for me this happens in the shower for some reason.
