oh god my monitor is fucked up

Starting today, whenever I turn on my monitor after turning it off after turning it on for the first time ( ) some wacky red stuff appears on the edges and disappears a few seconds later and stuff is all light blue-tinted until I switch windows.

Also, this is the same monitor that will randomly turn off and back on by itself every other day.

I've had it since 2005.

New monitor?

UPDATE: I just turned it off and back on and nothing unusual. Hopefully it'll stay this way.

mine shuts off after the computer goes into standby mode... and then it doesn't turn back on when i wake the computer up :'(
