How often do you check/read your email?

Gmail is always one of my open tabs, so I always know when I have a new email just by looking at the number of new messages on the little tab. And since I get about 5 emails a day most of the time, I'm checking it a good amount.

that's a great idea, modifying the sounds... I've started hearing "New Mail Sound" in music I listen to in the background, in my sleep, in quiet places... I'm serious, I'll be like reading a book an swear I hear BING and then I look at my screen and there's no new mail. :'(

same with "Morse," that little "plip," which sounds when Newsfire gets a new item in one of my RSS feeds. That sound tortures me. 

Happens with me, but with the MSN messenger beep.

Also whenever I sign in to trillian it tells me that I have mail. n_______n

That happens to me with Pidgin, I swear I see my IM window flash orange, but nothing.
