How do you know if he did or not? It coincides with a faith, not a set of facts. Trying to say he for certain didn't exist just because you don't believe him to be our savior seems a little stupid.

Many people think that the thousands of scriptures and other written documents from ages long since passed, not to mention word of mouth that has continued since Jesus' time, are good enough to be considered records of existence. Plus, like YPR said, we have the Census of Quirinius, which is indeed a record stating that Jesus existed.
