Go Down

Trini

I remember one time it took me forever to piss, and when I did I left the cup on the sink.

So I just threw it in the trash and didn't say anything. They never brought it up.  :|

How can a pill even help stop depression?

Wouldn't you realize, "wait, I'm taking pills? What the fuck difference does that make? That doesn't make my life any happier". And then fall back into depression?

Depression is just a physical condition in your body. If it's uncomfortable, then medication can be taken to control it.

Doctors know more than you guys, assholes.

Socks

Depression is nothing but chemicals being fucked up, pills help with these chemical imbalances in the body. Naturally you should be able to regulate this yourself but some people are defeatists and need man made wonders to help them.

I don't feel like reading Wiki to prove a point and copy pasting shit, thats a 1 min summary. Life so far has proven me right, to each their own.

cancer patients can't control their own cell growth, they are defeatists.

If you can regulate hormones in chemicals in your brain yourself then why do you smoke weed?  Clearly you have a magical ability to regulate the dopamine your body produces, so why do you need the help of THC?  You are a weak defeatist Socks.

Wait, you can't regulate your dopamine levels?  Sort of like people suffering from depression can't regulate their serotonin levels.

I engage in 100% natural activity to regulate my dopamine levels, and I have yet gotten to the point of being completely dependent on something for pleasure.

Smoking marijuana isn't really any more "natural" than taking any sort of drug that eases feelings of depression.

How is depression a chemical imbalance? Isn't there such thing as depression caused by life circumstances?

There are different types of depression. Clinical depression is the imbalance of chemicals.

Weed grows in nature, pills don't grow in trees. And I smoke weed to experience a feeling of euphoria, more then usual, without it I'm still good, my day would go on as usual.

You ignored the entire fucking post.  doodthing;
You can't regulate the dopamine levels yourself; you need the help of a drug.  It doesn't matter whether it is a naturally occurring or man made.  You are unable to autonomously regulate your dopamine levels; people who suffer from depression are unable to do so with their serotonin.

Unless you can find a reliable source that shows that depression and other chemical/hormonal imbalances can be controlled without the help of anything, shut the fuck up.  I think I'll take the word of thousands of doctors who actually graduated from college with a medical degree over someone who almost dropped out of college after a year, and has no experience in the medical field other than reading some article on the internet.

Yes lol.  There is having depression, and then there is just being depressed.

The latter can be controlled, but they also don't give medication just because someone is a little sad that their puppy ran away, so Socks can't try claiming that's what he was talking about.

He was going on his bullshit claim that Clinical Depression is a sign of defeatism.

YPrrrr

My neurologist was going to prescribe me some antidepressants but I flat out told her I would refuse to take them, so she didn't bother. I don't like taking pills for stupid crap like that, and besides I'd rather sort out my issues on my own. I would say I'm a lot happier in general today then I used to be, and I was able to do it without any medication
