Am I weird for this?

Normally on holidays where people should be happy I stop and think of something that makes me really depressed.  :(

For example, on the last few Independence Days I would be watching the fireworks and noticing how beautiful they are and then I'd realize that there are people in other countries who are hearing the same exact thing I'm hearing, but instead of feeling happy they are hiding in fear hoping that the explosions aren't going to hit them next.

Or on Thanksgiving I'll be eating the food and realize that there are people who probably haven't even thought of seeing that much food.  And then I think about being annoyed by having to eat leftovers for the next day or two or three, and thinking of the fact that there are a lot of people elsewhere that have barely enough food for a single meal, let alone ever having leftovers.

Christmas?  I always feel selfish for asking for anything.  :(  And when I do get something I ask for I feel really guilty when I get it,  I remember being told a few times that I may not be able to get anything for Christmas because we can't afford it and that there are some people who repeatedly go without getting anything. :(

Am I the only one who does that?  >.<

That's not weird, that's being grateful. You are also realizing that you are more fortunate than others.

I don't really think of those types of reasons to hate holidays...but I still hate them. Just because majority of them are pointless and don't represent what they use to represent.

I feel the same way sometimes.
Other than the Independence Day thing.
I just shrug it off and be thankful.

You either have a big heart, over sensitive, or it's some psychological condition that I cant remember.

I just consider holidays a regular day and I want them to get over with so I can get back to school and be done with it.

If you want to succeed, your primary concern is yourself, pussy. We all get depressed at stuff like that, and other personal problems and shit, but whatever. Depression gets you nowhere.

I'm too blasted out of my mind to form a coherent thought on holidays so yeah.

Christmas always makes me sad. It has something to do with my childhood. I can remember being in a car and something happened. But I don't know what.  And one Christmas there was a huge fire in the neighborhood drug store. Bottles of booze were exploding and it was awful. I must of been 4 or 5.

At least you are doing something for those unfortunate people instead of thinking of them, right? doodella;

You just appreciate a lot. On holidays sometimes I think of my past, and how my short childhood has gone to waste and I'm just sad. But most of the time I'd just have fun.

I never ask for anything on Christmas, and I'm really lucky if I get any shit. The most I got was that damn delicious Ouch! bubble gum. Unless there was that time my cousin said it was for my birthday+christmas he paid half for my second DS because the first one broke.

You're on the path of success.

Holy shit, I miss that stuff. I never knew it lived past the 90s.
