Where is the Tech Board, cause I have a problem?

Feynman

Try defragmenting the hard drive.

Daddy

Why did you do?  Are you trying to make a windows partition, remove it, resize it?

You can't do shit to the Windows partition besides remove it and make it in the boot camp assistant. I'm assuming he's trying to partition his Mac drive and make a Windows partition because the option that's there is "Partition" and not "Remove".

Trying to make it, because I want games to work better

But its not working, I tried erasing free space and fixing the disk permissions

Have you ever made another partition on the OS X disk before, then erased it?

I did that before trying to make a Windows partition a second time, and got the same error.

You're pretty much fucked; I had to do what it says and backup everything/reformat before it would work.

damnit, why?

Yes, because HFS drives need a good de-fragging now and then

ITS A MAC, THERE IS NO DEFRAGGING

they still do require some cleaning via some freeware cleaning utilities out there that work very similar to defragmenting
