so i've been reading the wind-up bird chronicle and wow murakami's writing really soars to new heights in this part where lieutenant mamiya is recalling his war story

snoorkel

i've always wanted to read that and never have

??????

murakami is so dull to me
idk he just gives off '22 introverted girl" vibe

dyg [did you get] the OriginalScroll version
and that's probably because its kinda fuckin boring
Samus Aran

no i mean i like it but sometimes it really drags, idk, like when dean isn't in the story it starts to get a bit dull lol

i still like it though?? i really like the whole energy of some of the better parts, like when he's describing street musicians and stuff.

also no i did not get that version

Socks

the only part of on the road that really sticks out in my mind is him describing being drunk on the back of a pick up and then at a stop, driving across the nightly western sky. something about flushed cheeks and starry eyes.

gayman is pretty good w/ words

Patrick Stickles

the part of on the road that sticks out for me is when they're sitting on the bed high as fuck cross legged and talking to each other
What the fuck was it for anyway?

Samus Aran

my favorite parts were when they saw jazz/bebop musicians and stuff, the writing style gets really dramatic

the last forty or so pages also stuck out to me because of how well dean's "downfall" is portrayed without it being overbearing...and it's just a lot of small things that amount to sal finally seeing dean for what he really is

Finished Goldfinger last night. It was pretty meh, the middle was slow, then the climax ended way too fast.

Hopefully Thunderball is better
