It's an Acer Aspire 6920. I have finished transferring all of my files from the family computer to my laptop. Now, I want to install Ubuntu on this computer, but the people at Acer told me that I need to find the Linux version of the drivers I currently have on this computer. So 1) Where can I find those drivers, and 2) is there anything else I need to do before I install Ubuntu?

1. Have you tried google
2. I'm not sure, my cousin got Ubuntu on his computer and switched back to Windows because he says it gets annoying when you try to download stuff. vSo prepare to face difficulties.

Other than that, I don't know much about Ubuntu, so I can't really help you much.

No I have not sweat; But Windows and Acer have put a lot of driver into this computer, so I don't know which ones that I truly need.

I'll see what I can do, however, some of the drivers already on Windows are hard to tell whether or not they are important.

This laptop is actually good for it's price. That's Acer for you.

maybe, but you're currently running Vista, so any measure of "good" is immediately voided

I don't know about Ubuntu, seems like if you're going to get into that you might as well get a Mac

This is from Acer America. When I read the response for the Acer representative, his response made it seem like that other Acer laptops around the world have Linux already installed. Besides, I've had bad luck with Macs. Also, Ubuntu is free and downloadable.

Why would you copy all of your files to it if you're going to install another OS?

So I can do a local transfer of files. Besides, if it turns out I hate Ubuntu, I wouldn't have to do much extra work.

How can anything be worse than Vista?

How can anything be worse than Vista?

I never said that. I only stated what I could do if I end up hating Ubuntu.
