I've decided it's time to replace my beloved MacBook Pro. Not only is it suffering several physical deficits (dents, top panel separating from body, slightly stuck keys), but it's just not good enough anymore. :(

Mine ---------------------------------- The current ones
2.16GHz Core 2 Duo  --------------- 2.5GHz Core 2 Duo
90gb ---------------------------------- 250gb
256mb Radeon X1600 ------------- 512mb nVidia 8200GT
Not a multitouch trackpad --------- cool new multitouch trackpad
1.5gb RAM ---------------------------- 2gb (mine originally had 1)
802.11g -------------------------------- 802.11n
4x SuperDrive ------------------------- 8x SuperDrive

I think I could sell this one for $1000-$1200. Anyone interested?

One of the new ones with specs I listed is only $2150 when bought from Apple refurbished (which is as good as new).  :(

Why didn't you get Applecare? :|
I do not have HIV/AIDS.

what good would that have done

Daphnia

Not good enough for what?

I used a 12" 1.0 GHz PowerBook for the past 5 years. There's nothing wrong with selling it so you can get a better one, but what can't it do that you need the new one for?

applecare doesn't mean they replace the entire computer if you dent it, it means they fix it if there's a hardware or software problem, i.e. it doesn't cover physical damage

It has great trouble running uncompressed projects in Final Cut Pro with lots of audio tracks to process, which is annoying. Also Photoshop CS3 would go a shitload faster and so would Logic

I also really want a glossy screen, more HDD space (90gb makes me want to kill myself), and more graphics/processor power for the rare occasions when I play intense PC games.  doodthing;

Tomboh

if you want to sell something you shouldnt really start off with everything wrong with it

just a business tip

It's a combo of a CD/DVD reader/writer.

And multi-touch track pad basically explain its self, you can use multiple fingers on the track pad to do things.

o

Don't exactly know why you'd ever need a multi-touch pad, but whatever.
