I hate military bases because they always feel dead. Our PX here in Fort Campbell is the largest in the world, yet it still just feels like a ten year old Walmart filled with old ladies that collect those porcelain angels with those overly large and hideous eyes.



Jesus, those things scare me.

The only reason I ever go on base is to buy games without being taxed, but it takes about a month for new shipments to arrive. They're the only store in the region to carry Glory Days 2 and I think the last time I went there was to get that. Everywhere you go, it just feels like nothing is alive. There are no trees, nobody walking around, all building and signs are a pale brown or white, and the streets makes no sense. (you have to get in a right like which looks like a turning lane to go straight, which makes you have to swerve back into the middle. It's completely illogical and causes many people to get tickets.)

Also, almost everyone in the military is a pompous jackass that would probably have difficulty in third grade if they would be sent back, and probably should be. Even the doctors are retarded and have little to no experience, diagnosing two tumors I had as bruises. Jesus Christ, how the hell are pea sized lumps on my limbs the result of a sports injury if I don't even leave my home and if I wasn't even injured? Aren't bruises generally sensitive or bruised?

Have fun with your free health insurance that's only accepted at military hospitals with doctors that only earned experience playing Doctor with their big brother.

And my father has lost most of his pride in the military and hates literally everyone he works with. He used to encourage me to join up until a few years ago when he saw what failures it's composed of.

I'm not joining for the health insurance, and the base's first primary purpose is not to make you feel warm and happy inside when you visit it. Also, military folk can be a cocky bunch but they're not necessarily idiots because their demeanor and interests differ from yours. In any case, your father should be proud of what he's done.
