They fire neutrons at uranium atoms. The addition of neutrons causes the atoms to become highly unstable and then split into two smaller atoms (fission). During the splitting, some of the matter in the atom is converted into energy (e=mc²). It also releases a few neutrons, which split more atoms and release more energy and neutrons, causing a chain reaction. Under normal circumstances, though, most of the produced neutrons would just fly away and the chain reaction wouldn't last very long, so they have to have the fuel immersed in a moderator such as deuterium or graphite which slows the neutrons down and prolongs the reaction. The energy released by the fission reactions is in the form of heat. This heat is used to turn water into steam in a pressurized chamber, and then the highly pressurized steam is released and used to turn a big turbine. This turbine rotates some magnets around a wire, which induces an electrical current in that wire.

well first they set neutrons on fire and throw them at your anium adams.  this causes the adam to become very unstable and his mind splits into two distinct personalities. during the breakdown, some of adam's problems are converted into hip hop (e=mc hammer).  it also releases some repressed memories from his childhood of how his uncle used to make him touch himself.  normally, these issues would just go back to where they've always been in his mind but this time he decides it's time to get even.  he finds his uncle and moderates him and the uncle gets mad because adam keeps locking his conversations but the uncle starts to think that he deserves it because he knows what he did.  this prolongs the meeting.  then adam sets his uncle on fire which produces heat which turns water into steam and then someone puts batteries into a turbine and then it produces electricities.
