I should have done that.
I get that feeling sometimes, but I try to suppress the thought.

Why do you feel that way?
Because I have deep, repressed, emotional thoughts that pertain to an event in my life that happened nearly a year ago. After that event, I see absolutely no hope in me graduating from high school on time. Judging by the type of person I am, If I don't graduate the year I'm supposed to, I'm probably just going to give up like a fucking loser like always. Then I'll end up working at a grocery store, just as my dad did. But the only difference will be that he was at least able to graduate from high school, whereas I'll be a dumbass working at a grocery store who doesn't even have a high school diploma.

Don't know, don't care. I'm just a freshman.

wry don't worry

There are always options. You can go to a community college for 2 years, get good grades, then move up t a better college for the remaining 2 years.

And that is only one option.

In high school?
If so, you seem way older than you are.

I've changed my major slightly. It's now a BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) in English. Teaching was sounding less appealing every time I thought about it. I had to admit to myself that the main reason I wanted to teach was because I thought I couldn't get anywhere with my writing. But I decided to quit being a stick in the mud and go for a career in writing after all, so that's why I'm going for a BFA.

I'm really tempted to take a semester off but I lack motivation and I know that I'd have difficulty going back.

I plan on going to Michigan as a hockey player and winning the NCAA National Championship on every year of my 4 years of my stay at Michigan University. Then, I will make myself eligible for the NHL Entry Draft and get drafted by the New York Rangers. I will win the Stanley Cup every year of my career.

Well, let's see.

My plans have always been to be involved in aviation. I've loved it since my first landing at La Guardia, even though it was short lived and there were about 3 757s on final approach which meant I had to get my ass off the runway as soon as possible.

I was hired by Cape Air soon after getting my ratings. A School in Bridgeport offered me my PPL, CPL, IFR, ME, MEI, and ATP all for 25,000 dollars. I took it, obviously. You see, an ATP is a license that not many people get, and Cape Air is the only airline in the US to require one. I was one of the few young competent pilots with an ATP so they hired me. I've been flying a scheduled route ever since. It's an awesome routine and knowing that I'm going to be flying and putting a smile on peoples' faces that night makes School a lot more bearable.

Then, a couple weeks ago, after applying to Cayman Airways (mostly as a joke, FYI) I got the call and they said they needed some young and preferrably American Pilots to fly their DHC Twin Otters before they retired them in place of some ATRs. About a week later they called me and told me that after looking at their resume, they wanted me get type rated on the 737-300  since pretty soon they were going to an all Jet and Turboprop fleet. I went down to Fort Worth last week and got my partial type rating. I'll be finishing it up at a NWA facility in Ohio.

After this summer, when I'm finished flying for Cayman, I'll go back and continue flying the 402c for Cape Air and hopefully work my way through college doing so.

And that's where I'm at.

I want to take a few years off and just be a loser, sharing an apartment with some smelly dudes and be in a band that goes nowhere but still plays at local clubs and stuff on occasion, take bong hits on the couch while watching old reruns on TV,and just work as a cashier at a gamestore or something.

Is it wrong for me to think of that as an ideal life?
I want to be a fat man with a beard and I just want to play Dungeons and Dragons with some good friends every friday night. Maybe I could live with like 2 or so other guys in a big home (needs some sort of library in it) and on weekends we'd have about 5 more friends over. Doing that for a couple of years then maybe getting into science or programming while still keeping up the good weekends sounds to be the perfect life for me.

My less social plan involves lazing about for around 6 months then traveling across the US or Europe, then maybe Asia if I have a chance, then return home after about 2 years and go to college when I can devise a better plan for my life. And no, I don't intend to stick to a single career forever.

Making a movie covering my travels would also be most excellent. Peace Corps could be a good way to do this and fund an education, but I'd refuse to go to Africa.

I think the Peace Corps operate mainly in South America these days, so you'd have a better chance of going to Ecuador or maybe Brazil.

I've always been interested in the region, so a year of that would be nice aside from insect infestations.

I like insects, but not diseases.
