ipod help please

so i want to sync my ipod but itunes tells me that my ipod is in recovery mode and that i have to restore before using it with itunes

i have no idea what recovery mode is and i already restored it like 3 times and it still wont work

I got this issue on my iPod Touch. myface;

Apparently when I downloaded the latest update, it was corrupted so I can't install a corrupted update without corrupting my iPod and I can't restore it with corrupted software so I plugged it into another Mac, downloaded the latest iPod update on that Mac, and restored it there.

But the recent software release on my Mac is corrupted and I don't know the directory for the update

i actually solved my problem about 10 minutes after i posted this thread

apparantly i had to assign the ipod to a different drive
