gimp help

I have the red globe in my sig, and I'm trying to change it to a different color with gimp. How would I do this?

A gradient map might work. Pick two colors you want to gradient, or if you only want one, pick that color twice. Pick that gradient. Go to colors, and something like gradient map or something. I haven't used GIMP in awhile.

i dont have gimp, but i would have either used colorize, or made an overlay layer.
