However, there's this kid in my History class that has a 99 average and before class starts, he usually carries an empty bottle of vitamin water and pretends it's a football by throwing it at me and pretending to do certain plays. I don't even laugh at him, it's really sad, actually. I just stare blankly thinking about what the hell goes on in his head.

He does extra credits the teacher didn't ask to do, and once he even brought a poster he made about the current topic we were covering for "extra credit" and bugged the teacher about getting points for it when she didn't even ask for any extra credit assignments.

Depends on what context you meet them at.

Some are mean if you're doing something they don't like. Like eating a hamburger.

I know that's an exaggeration and not all hippies are vegetarians and not all who are hate meat-eaters, but it's just the principle that any extremist is bad.

Well sure, there are things that will set them off. They're only human after all. Still, they're generally a lot nicer than preppies, nerdies, etc.
