Ok, let me get this cleared up. I have a Linksys WRT54GS. So I go to my router control panel, then go to Applications and Gaming (Port Range Forward). Then, I enter Wii under application. After that, I enter 1 in the start box and 6553 in the end box. Then, I enter the protocol as UDP.  I enter my Wii Static IP under IP Address. Finally, I click enable.

Is that correct?

YES

and/or you can find the DMZ settings in your control panel and put in your wii's static ip address, but that's not necessary after doing the port forewarding

I'm just having trouble finding my Wii's static IP. How'd you find it?

there was a section in my router's control panel where it listed all the "computers" that accessed the router

look for a log or something

KonohaShinobi

Oh lord it lagged like hell last night when I randomly played a person 1 on 1 and It literally lagged to the point where it was unplayable for like 10 seconds, moving at like a frame a second until it finally smoothed out. And the beginning of a random match was moving like it was in slomo.

I will try this out ,hopefully, soon.

In my log, it only shows MAC addresses.

I'm not sure these is the right place to go, though

When you foreward a port, do you have a dropdown menu that lists all of the devices that have used the router?

I found the correct log.  It says the LAN IP is 192.168.1.103. Does that sound correct?

I did, it worked great. I found matches in about 20 seconds or less. Thanks again  doodella;

I applied this:

And now my Wii lags worse than before.
I still managed to win in a random match against three people. doodella;
Really, my attacks are now delayed by like one and a half seconds (a guess, I didn't use stopwatch or anything) after I press a button. It used to only be like half to three-quarters of a second.

btw router is Actiontec MI424-WR and ISP is Verizon FiOS.

verizon sucks

add your wii to the demilitarized zone

Placebo Headwound

OK so after doing it I think I got it to work good.

I haven't been able to try it against any friends, though. >.<
