Go into your router's control panel (it's 192.168.0.1 for me), and forward the port of your Wii's IP address from 1 to 6553 with the traffic type UDP.

Don't ask me the specifics, use Google for that. But it works. It worked for me, at least.

find the Dynamic DHCP Client List and find your wii

It's under Setup > Network Settings for me.

You can also try to add your Wii to the DMZ.

Claquesous

So I forwarded my router, and now I can't even connect to wifi. What's this about a static IP for the Wii?

you need to foreward your wii's static ip, which you can find in the router's control panel where it gives you a list of all the devices/computers connected to your router

Squirtlejazz

I did it and it works great. Wifi on it takes like a second.
How many ports do I need to set for the Wii? Just one?
