I just found out there are a ton where I live. Before, I never really cared about a person's sexuality, thinking I'd never meet a homosexual and that there were none where I lived. Actually, before this school year, I was quite homophobic.

Well, today in the morning, me and some my friends were talking and another friend arrives (we were at the front of the school) and he hugs one of my chick friends. Jokingly, I say "What? Why don't I get a hug?" to the friend that just arrived. We hugged. Everyone there just said things like, "Oh my god, you guys are gay!" "You fags!"
I mean, they know we're not gay, but why do they think that hugging is gay?
We started arguing about homosexuality and, again, I was the only guy defending it (the guy who I had hugged went somewhere else).

I think the reason why people are so homophobic is because I live in a very Mexican community and we all know that Mexicans are very religious. So, they think that being gay is wrong "because the bible says so".

Umm... You never noticed until now? It's been going on for many years. Many people in my community have a mixed mind with this. They can be assholes or be nice. It kind of influenced my school for some to be bisexual.

The most kind of relationship I don't really care about is a family member loving another family member in a sexual relationship. I don't see anything wrong with it.

I just like making fun of the word 'homophobe' which means you're afraid of gay people, yet it's used as a term for someone who hates homosexuals. I mean, seriously, who would cower in fear at a fag?
