It's such a silly word. Such an odd and really unnecessary synonym for a bad situation or utter failure. It seems like it was invented purely for CNN anchors, politicians, and political analysts (who are often also anchors and/or politicians).

I once had a talk with my friend Sam about how silly of a word "debacle" is. It sounds silly just saying it.

We liked talking about words for no particular reason.

So, what are some of your favorite words? Least favorite? Anything that sticks out in your mind in particular?
