So today I had to find how out long the carbon 14 was there.

We were told that it was at 30% of its previous mass and the halflife was 5700 years.


I got an answer of about 12,000 years.

first i divided 72 by 5700 and got .01 and then was like ok thats the rate of decay then i was like
P=P_oe^kt
and then i was like ok
30=100e^.0001T
.3=e^.0001T
ln(.3)=.0001t
ln(.3)/.0001=t
and it was a little more than 12k
