i'm thinking about getting this since my old PC went to shit due to a power outage. my question is if i upgrade the graphics card will it be able to run Crysis? or a decent amount of games that have recently come out. The rig is only 300 bucks and I need a new PC desperately and my parents are willing to buy all of it.

in b4 emachines sux or whatever.

I doubt it, if you're looking for high-end GPUs those monsters won't fit in that little thing.

GPUs wont necessarily make it run better, just look better.

There isn't a computer for consumers that can run Crysis.

And I'm neither kidding nor exaggerating.

No.

I suggest you buy the computer anyway and downgrade to XP or install a Linux distro.

Are we talking games or general computing?

If General Computer, your right and wrong.  It won't run better, but it won't look better, unless you're using Vista and you get an Aero capable card.  And Aero on all cards looks the same.

Well I say buy a Mac, but since you want it for gaming I would just build your own PC. You can easliy build a $4000 gaming PC for $1000-$2000. Now of course thats like top of the line but thats better than paying $4000.

If you want to run the vidya game, you're going to need to build your own computer.

And that $1000-$2000 PC would be much better.  The only thing the Mac Pro has going for it is Dual Socket, and I think it has 8 RAM slots...
