Kalahari Inkantation

you think someone's looking right at you and talking to you and you respond when they were actually looking right past you and talking to someone else
smithicide;

Himu

Yes.  I feel all embarrassed. :(

Houdini

KonohaShinobi

No, because I know no one is looking for me, nor does anyone want to speak to me.

Albel The Wicked

You just point to yourself and ask "me?" and the person will probably tell you whether he or she was or not talking at you.

Selkie

Yeah

but it's worse when they are actually talking to you and you completely ignore them because you think they are talking to someone behind you.

noodle_976

yea...
also, i hate it when there's another person in my class with my name, sitting right next to me...

Daddy

Yes.

I also hate when you think they are talking to some one else and they are talking to you.

I don't recall that ever happening to me. powerofone;
However, the other one's happened pretty often. :'(

I find it more embarassing if a person quite a distance away waves and you think they're waving at you and you awkwardly wave back only to discover someone else behind or beside you waving normally because they know the person.

When you're in college and a beautiful women waves in your direction you start to hope she is waving to you.

In the midwest, waving to people you don't know is a little more common. caterpie;

And besides, when a person far away who you can't really see waves to you, you can't really be sure if you know them or not.
