Oh shit, I think this is the program that I've been waiting for.

http://www.songbirdnest.com/

It probably needs tons of work but so far, it's an open source media player. Supports skins (which they call feathers), plug-ins and it's cross platform. Hopefully in the future it will take over my iTunes but as of right now it'll just be something I bookmark and check it out in the future once they've gotten more development into it.

I just downloaded the beta and jerked off.

Holy shit, so far even the beta has better features then iTunes. They have an option where you can automatically import songs from a folder (A download folder if you wish). They will have things to let you use Songbird with iPods and whatever MP3 players there are. I wouldn't doubt if someone made easy video converters for iPods too.

Hotkeys if you want to make like F1 lower music volume and F2 to raise volumes.

HOLY SHIT LAWLZ, IT USES VLC FOR VIDEO PLAYBACK

HOW ABOUT DEM APPLES

... I'm interested. yes;

If this really means I won't have to use iTunes for my iPod anymore, I may just shit myself in excitement.
I FUCKING KNOW

I CAN'T WAIT TIL THEY SUPPORT MORE SHIT

All I need is to get my Last.fm hooked up and a taskbar player. Then anything else is extra from what I had in iTunes

Precisely. And I'm sure it won't take long for a Last.FM add on to show up.

*6% downloaded* china;

PROBLEM SOLVED, FORGET LAST EDIT. APPARENTLY, THERE'S ALREADY AN ADD ON THAT IMPORTS YOUR ITUNES LIBRARY, AND AN AUDIOSCROBBLER ADD ON (LAST.FM)

HOLY SHIT, I HAVEN'T EVEN FINISHED DOWNLOADING THIS AND I ALREADY LOVE IT. wub;
Both of those add-ons didn't work for me  orks;

I've used it since it came out and updated not too long ago. I use every version for a while, but find myself deleting it within a few hours.

I've hated every version so far and I doubt I'll ever change my mind. There's something about it that I flat out hate, though I can't explain why.

Does the library work like in iTunes?

I like how iTunes keeps the library.  Everything is organized and kept in sight.

Windows media player just searches your harddrive.

iTunes has you manually add the songs but the library is more organized.

It's pretty much and iTunes rip with some features still being "worked on". You can import your iTunes library directly into it and it'll look just like it does for you in iTunes. After toying around with it, I still prefer iTunes.

Daddy

Alright,   I hate iTunes but it has the best library feature I've seen.  It's the only reason I've kept it.

Blaze-Senpai

I still like Windows Media Player over anything else...

And it looks like iTunes a bit too much for me.

Personally I think Musicmatch's is better, what with one collapsable artist list instead of a gigantic fucking list of every damn song. It's also much easier to make a mix with Musicmatch. Just highlight, right click and add to list. Then press the shuffle button. You can mix your entire library if you want in just a few seconds. iTunes requires you to make seperate playlists to do that or use party shuffle...fucking retarded.

However, Musicmatch tends to have more trouble with little corruptions in songs, making them hard to move if they're corrupt. iTunes will still use them as if they were normal. Musicmatch also doesn't start playing a song immediately...it takes about 1 second. So if you're playing an album where the songs should segue into each other, there will be tiny gaps.

I use them both, since they both have their qualities and problems.

As for this new iTunes rip-off, I'm not even going to bother.

Songbird's been around for quite a while, and it's not a ripoff. It just tries to combine too many apps and screws it all up.
