I would buy a rabbit. They like eating giftwrap. Tear at the corners yourself, if you want to, as well, and blame the rabbit.

Depends on the type of tape.
Plain small tape like this comes off pretty easily. Just slowly remove it, remember where the creases are, and re-fold and re-tape after you're finished.
