Title27GT

I was gone this week because our grade took a trip to Washington, DC for our field trip. It was about a 7-hour bus ride from New York but well worth it. Here are the pics:

Leaving the school

Arriving-Capitol Building peaking out

In front of the capitol

A nice view of the Washington Monument where you can see the filming of "24" being done on the ground in front of the lake

The Einstein statue which was a breeding ground for idiots

Another great view of the monument in front of the vietnam wall

That V is the entire Vietnam Wall

Artsy.

Interviewing a veteran-later that day they read the names of all 58,000 americans who died in honor of Veteran's Day Weekend

A man crying presumably for his father or grandfather

There were some pretty cool reefs

Someone had left a labeled photo of the troop in front of their names which I thought was cool.

A lot of people had dropped American flags

Statues of American Soldiers

This one was of an injured soldier, a nurse, and his friend holding on to him as he presumably died.

Approaching the Jefferson memorial

Inside the Jefferson memorial

Within the Franklin Roosevelt memorial which was a really cool place

Walking next to the capitol as we prepared for our tour.

The Chief Justice chambers within the capitol

Grand Chandelier in the Capitol Rotunda

George Washington's original Home at Mount Vernon

Approaching the Lincoln Memorial

A really surprisingly clear shot of the statue considering no one else could get a decent shot

A night time picture of the Washington Monument and its reflection with the red Landing lights on top.

The World War Two Memorial, which was probably my favorite of the trip. In the background you can see the pedestals of which there is one for each U.S. Territory. It was beautiful.

The conclusion to the trip-the tomb of the unknown soldiers. It is where three unidentified soldiers from World War One, World War Two, and the Vietnam War are buried to represent all of the unidentified bodies out there. It is one of the most solidly guarded places in America. It is guarded 24/7, 365 days a year. We were there to catch the "Changing of the Guard" where a new guard comes to replace the current one and is inspected for about 10 minutes from his shoe shine to the cleanness of his gun. If he is not meticulous, he may not stand guard. It is one of the highest honors in the military.

Just thought I'd share.

Ugh. I hate Washington. Every time my relatives come over, they want to go to Gettysburg and Washington.

Bores the shit out of me... Except when we went after the spy museum opened

Pelelol

Boring state, even more boring city. I know it's historical and everything, but that kind of stuff doesn't intrest me

Well, maybe it's just because my town is covered with fecal matter, but when I was there, I was like, "wtf clean city."
