why the hell would you want to get rid of os x are you retarded

  psyduck;

And since gaming computers tend to be powerful, sure? If you're willing to get a desktop, iMacs deliver power and are a fair price.

Lol, gaming computers, power, and iMacs shouldn't even be in the same paragraph.  spam;
Unless the paragraph was saying iMacs aren't gaming computers, and have no power.

Guys, we can discuss the OS later, but for now, what laptop should I get, and why? Acer laptops having OS X isn't a good enough excuse for me (as I can replace the OS whenever, right?).

The OS is one of the most important aspects of a system.

Can too.   gonk;

I get an acceptable FPS at 1280x1024 on high in DX9.  You only see the DX10 difference in the Very High Settings anyway, which I get like 10-15fps on.

well if you want your computer to work you might want an os that supports the hardware.

You wouldn't want a distro of Linux that is incompatible with your video card or something.

OS X is incompatible with my 8800GTS.  emo;

And it looks like a pain the butt to try to get a hacked driver, since OSX, and current hacked drivers hate anything with more than 256mb VRAM.   psyduck;

wait you mean os x doesn't work with a video card it shouldnt be using

QuoteLike options? You have three powerful graphics cards from which to choose, including the NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT (256MB), ATI Radeon X1900 XT (512MB), and NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500 (512MB). And you can fill your Mac Pro with as many as four GeForce 7300 GT graphics cards.

512mb lol

Yes, OS X isn't compatible with a video card it shouldn't be using.  emo;

And maybe that X1900 works because Apple bothered to make drivers for it. :(

if you're buying a laptop you don't really have much choice of hardware.
