1. I don't say the pledge. Its fucking stupid. I'm not pledging myself to any country, as any country can easily become corrupt and I certaintly don't feel I should support it when it does. I just stand because my dad is a veteran now, and that's a show of respect to him.

We had to in kindergarten and first grade every day. Then I got a very long break from it until we started doing it every Monday in 11th and 12th grade.

If someone says America is the greatest nation in the world "because we have freedom and other countries don't," like every single person that I have ever known in this state has said, then that person is retarded. If a person says this country is great because most everyone has an equal economic opportunity, then fine. But that's not a result of invading Iraq and Vietnam and whatnot.

Some teachers at my school force us to stand, and I just find that annoying. Not everyone feels they have to, so why should they? Quite a few people have some reasons for not standing up. Since my Criminal Justice teacher permits us to sit down (if we want to), I stand up to show respect.

Uhm no.  I don't say the pledge because I'm not pledging allegiance to any nation.   Pledging allegiance means you remain loyal to the nation no matter what.
