Lots of Mario 64 fans bash it because it's just too damn good for them.

highly underrated but the best 3D mario game is sunshine

I guess some just thought the FLUDD was a stupid idea and can't get over the fact that you can't really do as many silly acrobatics and stuff as you can in SM64. I personally prefer Sunshine, but I still enjoy SM64.

As for Galaxy, I really don't know. I guess I'd place it between Sunshine and 64.

I'm still playing the initial beta, I love it.
