i beat shovel knight: plague of shadows

v good, although it took me a while to get used to the controls
lil' plaguey is a bit floatey

also it took me longer than the original game lol

beat strider (2014)

never played a strider game before but this was short, easy, boring, and uninspired. weak "metroidvania" with mediocre button mash combat. also really hideous character models for some reason.

[Samus Aran]

played through exceed: gun bullet children today. first game in the exceed series of bullet hell shmups. it's not very good. graphics worse than even some of the earlier Touhou games. music that's mostly this dumb generic acid house stuff, and doesn't even loop correctly. poor localization and optimization causing me to have to patch it to hell to get it to run at even 38 fps on average (a bullet hell shmup should always run at at least 60).

i won't deny that the music is well-made and catchy tho, and the music in the last level and second-to-last level boss are actually pretty great.

uhh that's all it has going for it tho
